Why did people create Irish dance?
なぜ人々はアイリッシュダンスを創ったのですか？
create = 「創る」動詞
The next example is Irish dance.
次の例はアイリッシュダンスです。
It is famous for the dancers' quick steps.
それはダンサーたちの素早いステップで有名です。
It = Irish dance
is famous for 〜 = 〜で有名である
dancers' = ダンサーたちの
Ken's は「ケンの」、the dancer's 「そのダンサーの」
複数形の名詞に「〜の」をつけたい場合は今回のように、dancers のあとに「' アポストロフィ」をつけます。
This dance dates back to the 16th century.
このダンスは16世紀にさかのぼります。
date back to 〜 = 〜にさかのぼる
In those days, Ireland was a colony of England.
当時は、アイルランドはイギリスの植民地でした。
in those days = 当時は
colony = 「植民地」名詞
People there were not allowed to perform their traditional music or dance.
そこの人々は許されなかった、演じる、彼らの伝統的な音楽やダンスを
→ アイルランドの人々は彼らの伝統的な音楽やダンスを演じるのを許されませんでした。
there = in Ireland
allowed = allow「許す」動詞の過去分詞形
were not allowed は受け身形の否定「許されなかった」
perform = 「演じる」動詞
traditional = 「伝統的な」形容詞

As a result, Irish people quietly sang their songs indoors and created a new way of dancing.
結果として、アイルランドの人々は静かに彼らの歌を屋内で歌い、新しい方法のダンスを創りました。
as a result = 結果として
sang = sing「歌う」動詞の過去形 sing - sang - sung 原形 - 過去形 - 過去分詞形
indoors = 「屋内で」副詞
way =「方法」名詞
In the dance, they did not move their upper bodies.
そのダンスの中で、彼らは彼らの上半身を動かしませんでした。
upper = 「上のほうの」形容詞
upper bodies = 「上半身」
下半身はちなみにlower bodyです。
They only moved their legs.
彼らは脚だけ動かしました。
Thus, when someone outside looked through the window, the person could not tell if they were dancing.
だから、外にいる誰かが窓から見たときに、その人は彼らがダンスをしているかどうか言えませんでした。
thus = 「だから」接続詞
look through the window = 窓から見る、窓越しに見る
if = 「〜かどうか」接続詞
